Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about working with YachtMonaco in Monaco.

  • Day charter on a motor yacht in Monaco typically starts in the low thousands of euros, while weekly crewed superyacht charters run from tens of thousands upward depending on length, crew and season. High season around the Grand Prix and summer commands premium rates. Every charter is quoted individually because fuel, crew gratuity and Mediterranean VAT are calculated on the itinerary. Contact us with your dates and party size for an exact quote.
  • Berthing in Port Hercule is among the most expensive in the world, ranging from several hundred euros a night for smaller yachts to many thousands per night for large superyachts during peak events like the Grand Prix and the Yacht Show. Rates depend on length overall, the season and berth availability, and Monaco berths are limited and booked far in advance. We arrange berthing as part of charter and management services.
  • Chartering gives you full use of a crewed yacht for a day, week or season with no ownership costs — you pay a charter fee plus running expenses. Buying through a broker makes you the owner, responsible for berthing, crew, maintenance and management, but able to use the yacht freely and charter it out to offset costs. Many clients charter first to decide on size and style, then buy with brokerage guidance. We handle both sides.
  • Yes. Yacht hospitality berthed on or beside the Formula 1 circuit is one of the most sought-after ways to experience the Monaco Grand Prix, with the harbour chicane and swimming-pool section visible from deck. Circuit-side berths are extremely limited and booked up to a year ahead, so early enquiry is essential. Packages range from a single race day to the full Grand Prix weekend with catering and crew.
  • Yes. We are a full-service yacht broker and charter specialist in Monaco — we represent buyers and sellers on motor yachts and superyachts, handle valuations and MYBA contracts, and also arrange crewed charters across the Riviera. Whether you want to spend a week aboard, list your yacht for sale or find one to buy, the same Monaco team manages it.
  • From Port Hercule the classic Riviera itinerary runs west to Villefranche, Nice, Antibes, Cannes, the Lérins islands and Saint-Tropez, and east across the Italian frontier to Menton, Sanremo and on to Portofino and the Ligurian coast. Day charters typically stay within a few hours' cruising; week-long charters reach Saint-Tropez or Portofino comfortably. We plan the route around your dates, weather and anchorage preferences.
  • Yes. A day rental from Port Hercule is the simplest way onto the water — you board mid-morning, cruise the principality's coastline, anchor for a swim and a beach-club lunch, and return by evening. A skipper, fuel and basic gear are included, and we quote a clear all-in figure before you confirm. Day rentals suit a first taste of the Riviera or a relaxed outing with guests.
  • Our fleet ranges from sleek day-cruisers of around 10–15 metres to superyachts of 40 metres and above with full interior and deck crew. Smaller motor yachts suit day charters and short hires, while larger crewed yachts carry a private chef and are built for multi-day Riviera and Tyrrhenian itineraries. We match the yacht to your party size, dates and the kind of week you have in mind.
  • The MYBA contract is the standard Mediterranean charter agreement that sets out the yacht, dates, price and obligations of both parties. The APA — Advance Provisioning Allowance — is a separate sum, usually a percentage of the charter fee, that covers running costs such as fuel, berths, food and drink; it is reconciled at the end with receipts and any balance returned. We manage both transparently so there are no surprises.
  • Yes. Our Monaco desk provides year-round technical, crew and compliance management — maintenance schedules and yard periods, crew recruitment and payroll, and the paperwork of flag, class and compliance. Whether your yacht charters commercially or stays private, management keeps her ready, compliant and holding her value between seasons, with clear budget reporting on a rhythm that suits you.
  • Very much so. A family charter trades the rush for ease: short passages, sheltered anchorages for swimming, beach lunches and a crew comfortable with children aboard. We equip the yacht with water toys and paddleboards, plan around nap times and appetites, and keep the days unhurried so everyone, from the youngest up, has a real holiday on the water.
  • Yes. A yacht reframes corporate hospitality — a private, memorable setting for client entertaining, incentives or a product moment on the water. From a Monaco departure we host dinners, client days and incentive trips, coordinating branding, catering, AV and logistics with a dedicated crew so the experience stays polished from the welcome aboard to the evening return.
  • Absolutely. The sea makes a celebration unforgettable — a sunset ceremony at anchor, dinner under the stars, the lights of the coast as your backdrop. We tailor each event to its occasion and guest list, arranging florals, catering, music and a route timed to the sunset, with a crew devoted to a flawless evening so you and your guests stay fully present.
  • For summer weeks and popular yachts we recommend booking several months ahead, and for the Grand Prix and the Monaco Yacht Show as much as a year in advance, since trackside berths and the best yachts are spoken for early. Day charters and shoulder-season weeks can often be arranged at shorter notice. The earlier we begin, the better the choice of yacht, berth and route.
  • As your broker we act for one side of the transaction, never both. For buyers we search on and off market, arrange sea trials and surveys, and negotiate on your behalf on MYBA terms before handling closing and registration. For sellers we prepare a considered listing and qualify enquiries discreetly. Valuations and pre-purchase advice are available independently of any mandate, and we can carry a yacht into full management after the sale.
  • Our brokers work fluently in English, French and Italian, which covers the length of the Riviera from the French coast to Liguria. We correspond and contract in your preferred language, and crew are selected for the languages your party needs aboard, so communication stays effortless from the first enquiry to the day you step off the yacht.
